Comedian Brian Regan had the audience at Shea's Performing Arts Center rolling in the aisles Friday night, until an apparently inadvertent alarm had them filling up the aisles before the show was over.
The comedian had finished his set and was brought back on stage around 9:40 p.m. for an encore when the alarm sounded and lights began flashing in the theater. A recorded voice advised patrons to head for the exits as a perplexed and silent Regan stayed on the stage, apparently trying to figure out what to do.
When the recorded voice started again, Regan chose discretion over more laughter and applause and advised the audience to join him in calling it a night, which it did.
The Buffalo Fire Department said someone in the theater apparently pulled the fire alarm.
