Bistro Europa gets OK for West Side site

By Jill Terreri

Bistro Europa's plans to move from a small space in the Elmwood Village to a larger building on Connecticut Street won approval Tuesday from the city Planning Board.

The restaurant is planning some changes to the Golden Key Tavern, including demolition of some additions and a new one-story addition, which will allow for a commercial kitchen and expanded dining space.

Ellen Gedra, who owns the restaurant with her husband Steve, told the board that they are deciding on a new name for the restaurant.

The restaurant already has approvals from the Preservation Board and the Zoning Board of Appeals.
