Buffalo Eats: A second trailer offers real Mexican tacos in Medina

By Andrew Z. Galarneau

Donnie Burtless and the Lloyd's guys went to Medina to check out the taco trailer next to the Monte Alban Mexican grocery (507 E. Center St. (Rt. 31), Medina, 585-798-9767), home of the killer $5 torta.

It was closed for the night. Tragedy? Nope. Because the grocery cashier directed Burtless and company to a second taco trailer called El Gran Burrito (the UrbanSpoon listing has it as 12484 Rt. 31, Medina, 585-354-5617, a number I called but got no answer).

They loved it. Read all the details and viddy all the hungrymaking photos here. Sounds like the barbacoa is a can't-miss. Butless notes: "El Gran is also only open Friday, Saturday (both 11am – 9pm) and Sunday (11 to ?) and they only take cash."

Medina is not that far if you're hungry. On the way back, you can stop at Lake Effect Ice Cream's snazzy new parlor in Lockport.
