New allegations in Wilson sex hazing case
New details have emerged in the sexual abuse case involving the Wilson baseball team.
Legal papers filed with the school district offer new insight into what may have happened on a bus ride back from Niagara Falls more than three months ago, and beyond.
A baseball player, talking with school personnel in the parking lot on that April night, asked for something to be done to stop the attacks on younger members of the team.
Instead of getting a promise to help, the player --who was standing next to one of the alleged victims --was told not to get involved.
If he did, he'd be suspended and the police would be called, according to a notice of claim filed with the school district.
School officials also were told last year about a sexual hazing attack in which a player was sodomized with a baseball bat, according to the legal claim, but school officials did nothing, and the sodomy victim last year turned into one of the alleged attackers this year.
School officials declined to comment on Friday, but previously told The Buffalo News they were unaware the 2007 incident which allegedly involved the bat.
Along with the notice of claim, a precursor to a possible lawsuit, criminal cases against two coaches and three players continue to move forward.
