The lowdown on Laffey

Aaron Laffey gave up three runs on five hits in the first inning of the Bisons' 10-5 win Wednesday over Lehigh Valley and that was basically all the Pigs could get off him. He gave up just one run on two hits over the next four innings to emerge with his third straight win and improve to 6-1 on the season with a 2.82 ERA.

"He picked himself up after a dismal start, battled through five innings and finished his innings,'' said manager Torey Lovullo.

Check out some more impressive numbers:

---Laffey is 3-0, 2.88 in four starts since returning from Cleveland.

---He's 15-4 in his Buffalo career with a .789 winning percentage that's second in the modern era to the .850 of Jason Jacome, who went 17-3 in 1997-98. And remember, Laffey started 0-3 last season. That means he's 15-1 in his last 16 decisions in Triple-A.

---Laffey has won nine straight decisions downtown and has not lost here since May 22, 2007.
