Hard to care much about the WBC
I know Bud Selig & Co. insist you should care about the World Baseball Classic. I know some players care. I know there were 40,000 plus in the Rogers Centre Saturday for Canada-US. But, as I wrote in Sunday's Inside Baseball column, it's hard to really care about the WBC as a legitimate event. Too many guys pulling out, too much bad timing having this thing in the middle of spring training.
Maybe I'm missing something. What do you think? Does this event stir your national passion at all or should MLB just forget about it?
