Buffalo Bisons left-hander pitcher Pat Misch was named to the International League All-Star Team today. Misch, 28, has spent the entire season with the Bisons and is 7-3 with a
3.46 ERA in 15 starts. He leads all International League left-handed
pitchers with seven wins (T-3rd overall) and is 4th in the IL with 96.1
innings pitched. Misch is also one of 10 International League pitchers
with a complete-game shutout this season. He allowed four hits and no
walks while striking out six in a 4-0 win over Norfolk on May 15.
Misch has worked six or more innings in 11 of his 15 starts this season
and leads the Bisons’ staff with 10 starts. The Bisons are 11-4
when he's on the mound, the best record on the team. After
starting the season with three no-decisions, Misch was 4-0 in a
five-game stretch from April 25-May 20. Misch is 7-3 with a 2.78 ERA at home in Coca-Cola Field.
The Triple-A All-Star Game at 7 p.m. July 14 at Coca-Cola Park in Lehigh Valley, Pa. The game will be broadcast live on the MLB Network. WWKB 1520 AM, the flagship radio home for Bisons Baseball, will also carry the game live.
Catcher J.R House went 2-for-4 with two RBIs in Tuesday's win over

Jason Pridie's return to the Bisons didn't last long. The outfielder was activated off the disabled list on Tuesday but was taken out of the game after one inning and one at bat. Pridie was in the starting lineup in centerfield and led the game by grounding out to second base, but was taken out of the lineup and replaced by Lucas Duda. Pridie's right hamstring was sore and manager Ken Oberkfell took him out of the game for precautionary reasons.
Pridie missed 39 games with a right hamstring sprain suffered on May 18 against Charlotte. He played three games with Single-A St. Lucia from June 25-28 and hit .400 (4-for-10) with two runs, a double and a pair of walks.

Maybe you went to bed figuring the Yankees were toast Sunday night. Not a bad thought. The Dodgers had a 6-2 lead and were bringing in closer Jonathan Broxton -- who had given up three earned runs all season. Then everything changed. Someone named Chad Huffman had a two-run single. Someone else named Colin Curtis drove in the tying run on a fielder's choice. This isn't Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. This was Sunday night on ESPN.
The Yankees return home Tuesday to host the Mariners as Phil Hughes meets Cliff Lee in a monster pitching matchup. Lee is rumored to be a prized target of the Mets although that talk might have taken a hit when prospet Jenrry Mejia left his start early at Double-A Binghamton with shoulder stiffness. Maybe it was too cold there for Mejia, who said last week he was happy not to go to Buffalo because it was too cold here. Heh.
The Yankees are getting pitching coach Dave Eiland back Tuesday after he's been gone for a month on a leave for undisclosed personal reasons. A.J. Burnett sure seems to need some wisdom from Eiland as he's 0-5, 11.35 in June. Yikes.
Another really interesting slate of interleague games set for this weekend and we've already had a big story develop as the White Sox rolled to their 10th straight win -- their longest run since 1976 -- with today's 6-0 whitewash over the Cubs. The South Siders scored four runs in the first off Carlos Zambrano, who might have pitched his last inning for the Cubs after blowing up in the dugout at teammate Derrek Lee.
---Roy Halladay pitches against his old team for the first time as the Phillies "travel" to their home park to meet the Blue Jays in the set moved from the Rogers Centre because of the G-20 summit. What a shame. Would have easily been a 40,000-plus crowd and an amazing scene tonight in Toronto.
---The Twins are at Citi Field to meet the Mets, with Johan Santana starting tomorrow. Ex-Bisons Jesus Feliciano, who went 3 for 5 last night, and Josh Thole are in tonight's lineup.
Jorge Padilla makes his first start for the Buffalo Bisons after being acquired by the Mets on Saturday. Padilla hit .330 with four homers and 27 RBIs in 50 games for Triple-A Las Vegas. Here is the starting lineup for today's game:
Jorge Padilla, cf Justin Turner, ss Mike Jacobs, 1b Mike Cervenak, 3b Fernando Martinez, rf Lucas Duda, lf J.R. Hosue, c Russ Adams, 2b Tobi Stoner, p
Nice move just announced by the Mets to help the injury-depleted Bisons: Veteran outfielder Jorge Padilla has been acquired in a trade with the Blue Jays and has been activated for tonight's game against Indianapolis. Padilla, 30, was hitting . 330 with four homers and 27 RBIs in 50 games with Las Vegas -- and was batting .439 in June. (Click here for 2010 numbers)
Padilla played 95 games last year in Syracuse and led all full-season minor leaguers with a .367 batting average. He led IL batters with a .424 on-base percentage and fell just 38 plate appearances shy of winning the league's batting title. Padilla made his major-league debut last year with Washington but was just 3 for 25.
He was originally drafted in the third round by the Phillies in 1998 and played for the Mets in 2006 at Double-A Binghamton, where he batted .295.
At this point, Padilla is not in tonight's lineup. Dillon Gee (6-4) will try to snap his three-game losing streak against Indy's Charlie Morton -- the right-hander who was 1-9, 9.35 for Pittsburgh this season before mercifully getting sent on rehab to Triple-A. Pittsburgh 1B/RF Steve Pearce is batting fourth for Indy in his first game on rehab, one spot under St. Francis product Jim Negrych.
Here's the Bisons' lineup:

The pathetic Pirates have lost 12 straight, are on their way to their 18th straight losing season and had to admit Thursday they've extended GM Neil Huntington and manager John Russell through 2011 to stem media speculation one or both were on the verge of getting canned. Pittsburgh Post-Gazette columnist Ron Cook ripped the team up one side and down the other over that charade.
The Pierogi race is one of the staples between innings at PNC Park, one of the neatest ballparks in the bigs. Too bad such a joke of a franchise calls it home.
We interrupt all this John Maine talk with this bulletin downtown: Valentino Pascucci just hit his third home run of the night to join Jeff Manto (1997) and Dusty Wathan (2005) as the only Bisons to do that at Coca-Cola Field.
An added point: The third one, just hit in the bottom of the eighth, was the 200th of Pascucci's minor-league career. He has five RBIs tonight as the Bisons lead 6-4. Pascucci entered the game batting just .203 and in and 0-for-12 rut over his last six games.
