The Bisons will host their annual Winter Hot Stove Luncheon Jan. 21 at the Adam's Mark and the featured speaker will be Buffalo Baseball Hall of Famer/newly hired New York Mets manager Terry Collins.
Collins, 61, was hired by the Mets to replace Jerry Manuel on Nov. 22 after serving last year as the team's minor-league field coordinator. He managed the Bisons from 1989-1991, posting a 246-186 record and leading the club to the 1991 American Association East Division title.
Bisons vice present/general manager Mike Buczkowski will also speak and will update fans on some changes planned for 2011 at Coca-Cola Field. The new playing surface was completed in November and fans driving by on Oak Street have noticed work beginning on a new scoreboard video component.
Tickets are $20 for a buffet lunch at noon followed by the program and can be purchased by calling the Bisons at 846-2011. Tables of eight are $160. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. The Bisons are asking all fans to RSVP by Jan. 18.
