Bisons close out series with Scranton

The Bisons continue their opening homestand by closing out their series with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees. This morning, Scranton put yesterday's starter, Manny Banuelos, on the disabled list. Banuelos gave up two runs on three hits with six walks in just two innings of work.

Today, righty D.J. Mithcell (1-0) gets the start for the Yankees. He is 4-0 career against the Bisons with a 1.04 earned run average. Buffalo will counter with righty Jeremy Hefner (1-0, 2.57 ERA) who went seven innigns in a 5-3 win at Rochester on Sunday. Those seven innings are the most by a Herd starter this season.

Mike Harrington, a Canisius College graduate who began his career as a News reporter in 1987, has covered the Buffalo Bisons since 1992 and Major League Baseball since 1995.
