Plenty of surprised planned tonight for the Bisons' 25th anniversary night at Coca-Cola Field. Former players Dorn Taylor, Tom Romano and Jason Cooper were on hand to throw ceremonial first pitches, as was "Larry the Peanut Man" representing the vendors.
IL President Randy Mobley is also in the house and made a special presentation to 90-year-old Bisons associate Frank Mooney, honoring him with the 2012 Spirit of the International League Award for service to fans in his city.
The annual award was created in 2010 and the first two recipients were longtime Toledo broadcaster Frank Gilhooley and Rochester organist Fred Costello.
The Bisons have yet to announce their all-time downtown team but that is expected shortly. As for the game against Rochester, Lucas Duda was pulled from the lineup in advance of a callup to the Mets tomorrow. Chris Schwinden will be on the mound. The lineup for Buffalo:
Fred Lewis, lf
Josh Satin, 2b
Zach Lutz, 3b
Valentino Pascucci, dh
Matt Tuiasosopo, rf
Adam Loewen, 1b
Josh Rodriguez, ss
Matt den Dekker, cf
Mike Nickeas, c
