Bisons righthanded pitcher Collin McHugh was added to the New York Mets' 24-hour taxi squad. He will make his Major League debut as Johan Santana was shut down for the season with a lower back inflammation. McHugh will start Thursday against the Colorado Rockies.
In 12 starts with Buffalo, he went 2-4 with a 3.39 ERA. He struck out 67 over 69 innings. On Saturday, he threw seven shutout innings for the Herd against Pawtucket at Fenway Park.
Today Jenrry Mejia starts for the Herd. He is 2-0 in August with a 0.59 earned run average. As a starter, Mejia is 2-1 with a 1.05 ERA.
Scranton, who returns to being the vistor for the rest of the homestand, counters with Adam Warren (7-8, 3.77 ERA) who is making his 25th start of the season and fifth career start agianst Buffalo.
