With Collin McHugh making his Major League debut with the New York Mets today, righty Armando Rodriguez was promoted from Double-A Binghamton to start for the Buffalo Bisons tonight.
McHugh pitched seven shutout innings giving up two hits with nine strikeouts in his MLB debut. He took a no-decision in a 1-0 loss.
In Buffalo, it will be Rodriguez who will get the start for the Herd. While the 24-year old was an Eastern League All Star for Binghamton, he made just three spot starts for the B-Mets this year with the rest of his 31 appearances from the bullpen. He was 0-1 with a 4.91 ERA as a starter while he was 2-2 with a 3.04 ERA overall.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre with counter with lefty MIke O'Connor (3-6, 3.73). The Yankess have clinched the season series with the Herd.
