Hendriks gets the start for the Herd ... finally

Finally, Liam Hendriks makes his scheduled start as the Buffalo Bisons host the Pawutcket Red Sox at 1 this afternoon in Coca-Cola Field.

The left-hander has made two relief appearance for the Bisons throwing two innings of shutout ball each time. His scheduled start in the rotation had been rained out.

Hendriks was claimed off waivers from Baltimore by the Toronto Blue Jays in February. Last season he was on the Opening Day roster with the Minnesota Twins and was optioned to Rochester after two starts. He missed 37 games while on the disabled list with right elbow inflammation from May 12 to June 19.

Also of note for the Herd is outfielder Anthony Gosde who has started the season on a six-game hitting streak. He his batting .320 with a .433 on-base percentage this season.
