Forty students at the University at Buffalo spent the afternoon convincing their peers to give a heart.
The students -- members of an advanced public relations class -- created a carnival-like atmosphere on campus to raise awareness for Upstate New York Transplant Services.
"We had two goals," said Jessica DiGennaro, one of the students. "One was to increase awareness, and the second was to get students to sign the donor cards."
The students created the "If I Only Had a Heart" campaign during the semester as a chance to get beyond classroom theory and work on a public relations project for a real organization with actual budgets and deadlines.
