A dollar and a dream: What kind of house $1 and a dream will buy in Buffalo

Creighton Randall, 28, and fiancee Chiara Noetzel, 27, bought a home on Dodge Street in the East Side for $1. After gutting the house, their work is paying off. They have lived in their house for eight months, and are proud of their fully-functioning kitchen.

The couple likes being able to put their paychecks into home improvements rather than rent or a mortgage. "I love my neighbors, and I love the neighborhood," Randall said. Photos by Charles Lewis / Buffalo News.
