*A police officer has been suspended and her supervisor has been demoted following an incident in which the officer stole another person's dog.

*Business Reporter Jonathan Epstein will have a wrap-up from today's meeting of Buffalo Place, the nonprofit downtown business improvement district centered around Main Street.

*Senior Sports Columnist Jerry Sullivan is working on his column for tomorrow, which may be about Eric Wood's comments about the Bills' Toronto series.

*The ninth annual "Tree of Life" ceremony in memory of homicide victims and in support of their families will be held tonight at the Merriweather Library.

*Tomorrow's edition of NeXt will feature favorite holiday stories from our correspondents.
