Morning meeting: Stories we are working on

Here's a few of the stories our reporters are working on, as discussed in this morning's news meeting:

*There are two public hearings today on proposed new rates from National Grid. Our David Robinson will be at the 2 p.m. hearing in Cheektowaga Town Hall. There's another at 6 p.m. in the Amherst Municipal Building.

*Our Business Department is working on a follow-up to the story about poor unemployment numbers, looking at how bad things really are.

*Improvements are coming to the NFTA bus line along Niagara Street.

Morning meeting: Stories we are working on

Here are a few of the stories we've got cooking:

*Forest Lawn Cemetery will be holding a lectured series on Buffalo's dearly departed restaurants.

*A local dermatologist is going to be on a cable tv reality series this week.

*The state budget is coming out at 2 p.m. Albany Bureau Chief Tom Precious, Bob McCarthy and other staff reporters will bring you everything you need to know. Stay tuned to buffalonews.com and the Politics Now blog.

*Bucky Gleason's working on his next The Buck Stops Here column.

Morning meeting: Stories we are working on

Here are some of the stories we're pursuing today:

*Charity Vogel is writing a story about three local women who have kept their New Year's resolutions.

*John Vogl, Mike Harrington and Bucky Gleason are headed to Toronto for tonight's Sabres-Leafs game.

*Washington Bureau Chief Jerry Zremski is covering the inauguration, which you can watch live and chat about with Bob McCarthy and Doug Turner here.

*Maki Becker is at St. Philip's Episcopal Church, which is holding an day-long event to where the community can watch the inauguration.

*Mary Kunz Goldman is writing her Buzz column for tomorrow.

*The governor's proposed state budget is coming out tomorrow. Albany Bureau Chief Tom Precious will lay out what you should know.

Morning meeting: Stories we are working on

Here's some of the stuff that came up at our morning news meeting:

*Reporter Maki Becker is out at area gun stores talking to customers and store owners as many people rush to purchase weapons before a pending state ban takes effect.

*Buffalo Bills representatives will appear before the Erie County Legislature this afternoon to talk about the recently approved new lease for Ralph Wilson Stadium.

*Albany Bureau Chief Tom Precious will have the latest on the gun control measures being pushed in the state capital.

*Washington Bureau Chief Jerry Zremski will be writing about Vice President Joe Biden's gun control recommendations.

*We'll also have the latest on Sabres ticket sales. There were only about 18,000 tickets left for the rest of the season when individual seats went on sale to the general public at 10 a.m.
