Economics vs. Emotions

The only words you need to know for the upcoming holiday shopping season are "gloom" and "doom." But how true to life is that, really? Is it just another instance of life imitating art?

Are you planning to cut back on your holiday spending this year? How much of your shopping behavior is dictated by your current financial situation and how much of it is motivated by emotion? Are the media scaring you into holding onto your purse strings, or is your grocery bill doing that for you?
