You've only had 3 comments in about 10 days. I can fix that.
Here's a tip for the guys.
What can you do if the dreaded "Check Engine" light comes on in your car and you have no idea what it means?
Go to Auto Zone. They will lend you a 'code scanner' for free. It's the size of a large calculator.
Plug the code scanner into the big socket under the dashboard near the steering wheel. You might need to stick you head under there with a flashlight to find it. The socket in you car will match the plug on the code scanner.
Turn on your ingnition, so the dashboard lights up, but don't start the car.
Press the scanner button that says: "read codes" or somesuch.
Wait for the machine to communicate with your car.
Read the code and mark it down. Advance to the next code/s (if there are any).
Unplug the scanner and shut off the car. Now you have to find out what the codes mean.
Go to: About.com and type-in "OBD codes" or type: http://autorepair.about.com/od/obcdcodedatabase/the_exhaust .
You'll find a list of codes and what they mean. For example the code "P1217" means engine overheating.
Now you know what the on- board computer says is wrong, and you can determine whether you can fix it yourself or need professional help.
You're welcome.

Oh,I forgot to mention that the people at Auto Zone will scan the codes for you - for free, if you prefer.
(I have no connection to Auto Zone)
