A cup of Joe?

As the old-time song definitely DOES NOT put it: "They've got an awful lot of coffee in Williamsville." There are all those  national chains, of course, which sprouted everywhere, but rumor has it that Canada-based Spot Coffee will  open a huge facility at the corner of Union and Main sometime next year, and The News today reports that Mississauga-based Coffee Culture is coming to the site that was once Sweet Jenny's near the Williamsville Farmers Market at the corner of East  Spring Street and Main. If you add just those two places to to all the Tim Horton sites, you get the feeling that the Canadian influence is taking over the entire java business - at least around here.

The old song was about Brazil, in case you don't remember. Ironically, ailing Starbucks put it on their Frank Sinatra disc that was sold in stores earlier this year. "No tea or tomato juice - they've got no potato juice," old Blue Eyes sang. How true. How true.
