Anti-bonus bill passes Assembly
A bill to prohibit bonuses to management and other non-union employees at state authorities - including the New York Power Authority, which handed out nearly $40 million in such pay this past decade - passed the state Assembly 122-0 yesterday.
The bill is sponsored by Sam Hoyt. A companion bill in the Senate is one of many measures on hold because of the coup chaos.

Is this a Christmas Miracle? Assemblyman Hoyt actually did something positive for the region?
I'm sure it'll be halted in the Senate. Stuff like this just doesn't happen in NY.

Keep in mind this only covers "management and other non-union employees" so he managed to keep the money flowing to any Assembly and/or Senate campaign that also votes for it.

It's all in the wording, they will not give anyone a bonus anymore''yea right.
Now they will just call it a pay raise, does the new bill prohibit giving a pay raise ? Of course not, foiled again. This is one of those feel good votes with a wink and a nod. As long as there is money to be had the politicians and their connected friends will find a way to get it.
Just today Citigroup announced pay raises up to 50% for the top dogs,,,they just got over $45 billion bailout money with the stipulation of no more bonus money, same deal no bonus just pay raises, what a joke.
