ALBANY -- A Washington-based group dedicated to getting Democrats elected to state legislative bodies around the nation is not happy with the deal five Democrats made today with Senate Republicans to share power in the state Senate.
The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee notes that it donated $102,300 to New York state Senate Democrats this election cycle and provided campaign advice in an attempt to help them take back the Senate.
"As for the outcome of the state Senate, voters in 33 districts spoke loud-and-clear in to support a Democratic candidate who would stand up for Democratic values. The members who decided to throw control to Republicans against the will of their own constituents will have a lot of explaining to do to the voters who sent them to the state Senate,'' Dan Roth, a spokesman for the political group, said tonight.
