The Common Council will conduct a caucus meeting today at 2 p.m. in Room 1417 of City Hall to discuss the agenda for tomorrow's Council meeting.
An agreement between the city and the Buffalo Urban Renewal Agency governing federal HOME grants will likely be discussed today. The agreement, which if approved could allow U.S. Housing and Urban Development grants to finally flow to the city (the city and HUD have been working on this for most of the year), was sent from a Council committee to the full Council without a recommendation for approval because lawmakers are waiting to hear from the Brown administration about it.
Other items of note include a measure from Council Member Christopher P. Scanlon urging the state Department of Transportation to "fast track" a study of the plausibility of tearing down the Skyway.
The Seneca Gaming Corporation has also provided the Council with an update of its activities over the last year, which will likely be discussed.
The Council will decide whether to vote on the Skyway measure tomorrow or send it to committee for further discussion. There is nothing to vote on in the Seneca report, but it might be sent to committee for a longer discussion.
The agenda, thus far, is below.Initial 12.11.12
