Good morning,
Today, the Common Council will meet at 2 p.m. for what is expected to be a very short session, if yesterday's pre-meeting caucus was any indication.
On the agenda is the appointment of Donna Estrich as commissioner of administration, finance, policy and urban affairs, which is expected to be approved without opposition. In this role, Estrich will be Mayor Byron W. Brown's top financial adviser, and will be a member of the panel of Brown aides who question city department heads during CitiStat meetings.
Council members will also send the city's comprehensive annual financial report, prepared by Comptroller Mark Schroeder's office, to the Finance Committee for discussion.
A proposal from Ellicott Council Member Darius Pridgen to urge ECC to move its medical and dental training programs to the vacant Sheehan property, now owned by McGuire Development Group, will likely go to committee for discussion, but the Council didn't decide yesterday what will happen to it, so it could get passed on the floor today.
