Removal of the Buffalo Skyway will command the attention of the State Senate's Transportation Committee chairman this spring as a result of an event planned by Sen. Mark J. Grisanti, R-Buffalo.
Republican Sen. Charles J. Fuschillo Jr. of Long Island will head a roundtable discussion about removing the elevated bridge on the Buffalo waterfront some time in April or May following adoption of the state budget, according to Grisanti.
“I want to thank Sen. Fuschillo for taking time out of his schedule to travel and attend a roundtable here in Western New York to discuss the removal of the Skyway," Grisanti said. "I am proud to represent the waterfront and it is important to have a meaningful discussion on the Skyway and how the removal of it will impact waterfront development.”
Grisanti said "all appropriate stakeholders" can be expected to be invited to participate in the event.
