The News' live Election Night blog/chat begins at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday

Along with up-to-date results and a live video webcast Election Night on BuffaloNews.com, The News will be providing readers with a live blog and chat.

It kicks off at 7:30 p.m. and will be hosted by News Staff Reporter Mary Pasciak. Comments and questions can be submitted for guests to answer until 9 p.m., when the chat will switch over to a running blog with updates from The News' reporters at election hotspots throughout Western New York.

The guest schedule for the open portion of the chat is as follows:

7:30 to 7:45 p.m.: News Political Reporter/Columnist Bob McCarthy (general overview and Erie County legislature)

7:45 to 8 p.m.: Editorial Page Editor John Neville (editorial board endorsement process)

8 to 8:15 p.m.: Suburban Editor Maki Becker (town races in Erie County)

8:15 to 8:30 p.m.: Niagara Falls Staff Reporter Aaron Besecker (Niagara Falls City Council race)

8:30 to 8:45 p.m.: News Staff Reporter Dan Herbeck (Erie County sheriff's race)

8:45 to 9 p.m.: Senior Metro Columnist Donn Esmonde (general overview)

Jerry Zremski, The Buffalo News Washington bureau chief, has reported from the nation's capital since 1989 after joining The News as a business reporter in 1984. A graduate of Syracuse University, Zremski is a former Nieman fellow in journalism at Harvard University. In 2007, he served as president of the National Press Club.
