Political Quote of the Day comes from Sen. Charles E. Schumer while conducting a news conference Monday at the Fontana Boat House.
The senator, outlining his call for more Customs staffing at the Peace Bridge, was asked about an binational economic development conference under way in Toronto on Monday with Lt. Gov. Robert J. Duffy in attendance.
"If Bob Duffy was there, I'm glad I wasn't," Schumer said.
The senator chose not to respond when asked if he cared to elaborate.
Later Monday night, Schumer's office clarified that the senator had misspoken and meant to say Rob Ford, as in the beleaguered mayor of Toronto.
