Kudlow headlines Kemp tribute, Conservative fundraiser

   By Robert J. McCarthy

Larry Kudlow, host of a popular CNBC business show, will speak Saturday at a tribute to the late Jack Kemp that also will serve as a fundraiser for the Erie County Conservative Party.
Russ Gugino of Hamburg, who served on the staff of the former Western New York congressman who went to become HUD secretary and 1996 Republican nominee for vice president, said the event will recall the "Kemp Forum" that attracted high-end donors to the congressman's campaign.
"Jack was all about ideas," Gugino said. "And while we're trying to appeal to the corporate community, we want this to be about ideas too."
The 5:30 p.m. event will take place at the Diamond Hawk Golf Course in Cheektowaga. Its organizing committee includes political consultant Roger Stone, 2010 GOP gubernatorial candidate Carl P. Paladino, and former Erie County Executive Edward J. Rutkowski (he is also a former Kemp team mate on the Buffalo Bills).
Gugino said the Newsmax cable channel is making arrangements to broadcast the event.
