Paris still in the news...

She may be partying in Toronto, taking advantage of the glitz, glamour and attention surrounding the Toronto International Film Festival, but Paris is in the news this morning... and it's not exactly for saving the world, as we were led to believe when she found herself in prison...

The Smoking Gun reports today that Paris has filed a lawsuit against Hallmark, claiming the greeting card maker "misappropriated her image and invaded her privacy" by creating and selling a $2.49 card bearing her likeness.

It depicts Paris as a waitress on her "first day" and she's warning a customer that the plate is "hot," parodying her catch-phrase "that's hot," made famous by her and sidekick Nicole Richie during their seasons on the television show "The Simple Life."

She's seeking $500,000 in actual damages, and a permanent injunction which would prevent Hallmark from using her likeness in the future on future greeting cards.

Clearly, when you're trying to save the world, it is hard to be taken seriously if you're lampooned on a greeting card.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting today that Paris has traded in her 3,000 square foot Hollywood Hills home for a 7,000 square foot mansion in Beverly Hills.

The mansion has 5 bedrooms, 5 1/2 baths and a fitness room that Paris plans to have retrofitted into the headquarters and epicenter for her world-saving organiza... wait, what? ... Oh, scratch that, she's renovating it to be a shoe closet.

The good news is, with the real estate market so topsy turvy right now, she only paid $5.9 million for it, and not the $6.25 million the seller was asking. I wonder if someone has warned her about those 30-year adjustable rate mortgages. I'd hate to see her lose this house.
