Morning Links: Brad and Angelina get cozy at SAGs
Hollywood glittered and Brad and Angelina canoodled at Sunday night's Screen Actors Guild Awards. Oh, and Tony and Carmella reunited to pick up awards for best male and female in a drama series Sunday night, and the whole cast picked up the ensemble award. "30 Rock," Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin won for comedy. Ruby Dee and Daniel Day-Lewis won in the film actor categories, and "No Country for Old Men" was the best film ensemble. Hollywood glittered and Brad and Angelina canoodled.
Britney's photographer boyfriend is said to be shopping around home movies of the star babbling incoherently for $2 million. Showbiz Spy.com quotes a person who has seen the films: "It's like something out of a horror movie. Britney spends the whole time ranting, raving and weeping." Meanwhile, Britney's close pal, Sam Lufti, is shocked -- shocked! -- that anyone would think he took payoffs to arrange photos of her. Annnd she's developed a new accent with no roots in an actual language.
Marlon Brando's oldest son, Christian, has died at age 49. Complications of pneumonia are being blamed. Brando served six years in prison starting in 1990 after pleading guilty to manslaughter for killing his sister's boyfriend.
A brief memorial service was held Saturday night for Heath Ledger, attended by his immediate family and a few close friends, including ex-girlfriend Naomi Watts. His body is said to be on its way back to Australia. Cate Blanchett said Ledger "was well on his way to being a master himself."
Miley Cyrus became ill during a concert in New Orleans, left the stage, returned and sang a few more tunes while sitting down. The 15-year-old was joined on stage by father, Billy Ray Cyrus, and they ended with a duet.
The Hollywood baby boom continues. Fred Savage and wife Jennifer Stone are expecting baby No. 2, and Dixie Chick Martie Maguire and her husband Gareth Maguire are expecting a third girl to join their twins. Nicole Richie is showing off her post-baby body.
Carol Channing was in a bank in Palm Desert Friday when it was robbed. "Well, along with a lot of other people we've been robbed. We just bought a new house ... and they robbed us," she told a local CBS TV station when asked about the bank robbery.
