Morning Links: LAPD considering "drugged" Britney investigation

A member of the LAPD has confirmed that while there is no active investigation, they are considering an investigation into whether Britney Spears was drugged by Sam Lutfi, as first reported by TMZ earlier this month."The issues regarding Britney Spears are being considered by the department to determine if laws have been violated. Particular suspects have not yet been fully identified nor has a formal investigation into open charges officially commenced," said Captain Kyle Jackson, of the LAPD Robbery-Homicide division.

The potential investigation stems from comments made in court papers by Britney's mother Lynne, in which she eluded to the fact that she was suspicious of Lutfi, and his motives. She also reported that Lutfi has allegedly made statements about grounding up pills and putting them in her food.

Lynne Spears is also praising husband Jamie in People Magazine for his handling of the ongoing Britney saga, taking control of her chaotic life. He's trying to be the stabilizing influence on his daughter, as Britney's conservator, but he's also been with her for visits with her children.

Speaking of Britney Spears... Her ex, Kevin Federline is turning 30 next month, and People says he has a big night planned at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas to celebrate.
