Morning Links: Dr. Drew backs down on Tom Cruise criticism
First, TV's Dr. Drew Pinsky speculated about Tom Cruise's mental health in a Playboy magazine interview, saying he could belong to "a cultish kind of environment like Scientology" because of childhood neglect. Then Tom's people shot back by calling him a "posturing flake" who "pretends to diagnose people he's never met." So Dr. Drew's people issued this statement: "Dr. Drew meant no harm to Mr. Cruise and apologizes if his comments were hurtful." IF?
As if things weren't bad enough for "American Idol" reject Vonzell Solomon, what with the Florida airport arrest for carrying a gun, now the Bank of New York is foreclosing on her home in the Sunshine State. Baby V finished third in the fourth season of the show, behind Bo Bice and winner Carrie Underwood.
Some guy nobody has ever heard of is suing Jay-Z for whisper-rapping, a soft-spoken talking technique he says he invented Mitchell Rose, a boxer/lawyer/rapper, has also written a book titled "Mike Tyson Tried to Kill My Daddy." Oh-KAY. He wants $88 million for "loss (sic) opportunities and mental distress."
Meanwhile, a guy named Uncle Love says he taught R. Kelly his "steppin'" dance moves and has filed suit. He says R. Kelly promised him half the proceeds from the steppin' song, but in his lawsuit, he says he'll settle for $50,000.
