For everyone stumbling toward the finish line of the worst %$#@! year of their lives and about to clock it completely unless they get one thing -- just one %$#@! thing -- to look forward to until their Christmas night bourbon-eggnog chug contest with Uncle whoever:
Behold! The bearer of that one-%$#@!-thing-to-look-forward-to, the 25th anniversary of possible the greatest holiday film ever!
The Angel swoops down from stage right, flapping giant wings fashioned from two of Ted Washington's old jerseys)

And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the blog each day, from now until Dec. 25, full of "A Christmas Story" quizzes, bloopers and other weird stuff."
And suddenly there was with The Angel a multitude of excellent party hosts, carrying beer, praising Jean Shepherd and singing:
It really is a major award, isn't it? And we're just warming up. Tomorrow we play "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon: A Christmas Story," and push some trivia around our plate like it's meatloaf, smeatloaf, double-beatloaf.
