Michael Lohan blames his daughter Lindsay's shockingly gaunt appearance -- and the no-less-shocking appearance of the ridiculous clothing line she helped Estrella Archs, left with LiLo, design for Ungaro -- on prescription drugs, says RadarOnline. The line was slammed as "cheesy and dated" by Women's Wear Daily, but dad is more concerned about his daughter than a bunch of throwback clothes adorned with hearts. "You know why Lindsay's not acting in feature films right now? Because she can't," he said. "Because the girl with all the talent is hidden and buried deep inside this fungus that's grown because of the prescription drugs. She can't be herself. When you hug her she's like, vacant inside. When she kisses or holds me I get chills, and not in a good way-in a bad way." Michael Lohan refused to say what prescription drugs might account for LiLo's gaunt, out-of-it appearance, but warned that Heath Ledger and Michael Jackson also died from prescription drug abuse.
Tom DeLay was forced to throw in the towel on "Dancing With the Stars" due to stress fractures in both feet. In fact, he was advised not to dance on Monday night's show, but after a samba with partner Cheryl Burke, said, "What’s a little pain when we can party?” By the end of the night, says People, he was wearing orthopedic boots on both feet and said, “They’re starting to tell me I shouldn’t have done this." EOnline reports that DeLay, 62, was feeling pain before the season even began, and was treated then with a cortisone shot. Jewel and Nancy O'Dell both washed out before last season's premiere and were replaced, and Olympic volleyball star Misty May-Treanor ruptured her Achilles tendon during practice halfway through the 2008 season.
Jon Gosselin denied he drained the family bank account of some $230,000 as photographers swarmed around him at LAX. "I didn't take it" ..."I did not take money," a sullen Jon told paparazzi who peppered him with questions right up until the time he entered the security line.
Elizabeth Taylor tweeted that she would "dearly appreciate" "any prayers you happen to have lying around," as she prepares to undergo heart surgery. His attorney moved to have it expunged after Gibson completed the terms of his three-year probation. It can be brought back up for "gun control purposes," the judge says, or if he gets arrested for DUI again.
A small plane carrying Brooke Shields and Jim Belushi struck an SUV, but it's not as scary as it sounds. The Cessna 421B rolled forward after it landed and the pilot failed to set the parking brake and struck a parked SUV on the ground, authorities in San Luis Obispo said. The plans landed at a private airstrip at Hearst Castle in San Simeon, Calif., where the two celebs and others on the plane were attending a private function. "Thankfully everyone is fine," said Shields' rep. TMZ impishly lists the other newsworthy events Brooke has been in the middle of, from her feud with Tom Cruise to her "dating" relationship with Michael Jackson.
Another crash -- the rear-end collision of Nicole Richie's SUV by a car driven by a photographer who, by the way, didn't have a license, -- might be the subject of a lawsuit. TMZ.com spotted an associate of lawyer Mark Geragos and a private investigator for the firm entering Richie's house. TMZ reports that Richie believes the photog struck her car to create some drama.
