'American idol': Re-read the live chat as one of the top 10 goes home

UPDATE and SPOILER: The bottom three were Katie Stevens, "Teflon Tim" Urban and Didi Benami. Katie was sent to safety, and Didi was the singer voted off. She sang Fleetwood Mac's "Rhiannon," but did not get the judges' save.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tuesday night, the Idol top 10 took on soul and R&B, with decidedly mixed results. Andrew Garcia may have redeemed himself, and favorite Siobhan Magnus may have endangered herself. Tim Urban smiled his way through the criticism, earning the nickname "Teflon Tim," and Ryan Seacrest embarrassed himself on live TV when he tried to get Didi Benami to talk about her best friend's tragic death in a car crash. Other than that, everything went smoothly! Join us back here right now to learn who stays and who goes, and to hear Usher, Diddy and Dirty Money, and Idol winner Ruben Studdard perform.

Morning Links: Jesse James checks into rehab in Arizona as his Nazi photo surfaces

Jesse James is in rehab at Sierra Tucson, an Arizona inpatient facility that specializes in treating drug, alcohol and sex addiction. TMZ reports that "a member of the medical team" confirmed that James was a patient there. The web site tracked him down there after multiple law enforcement sources told TMZ when a California Highway Patrol officer stopped James last Friday for driving without a front license plate and driving with tinted windows, James told the officer he was going to an Arizona rehab facility to try to save his marriage to Sandra Bullock. A TMZ producer called Sierra Tucson and spoke with a therapist, who reportedly confirmed that James was at the facility and in fact had a treatment session on Tuesday afternoon. After the news broke on TMZ, his rep confirmed it to People, saying in a statement: "Jesse checked himself into a treatment facility to deal with personal issues. He realized that this time was crucial to help himself, help his family and help save his marriage."

This does seem to be the worst week so far for James: Us weekly has purchased and will publish the much-discussed photo of James wearing a Nazi officer's hat and making the Nazi salute. He uses the index and middle fingers of his other hand to make the Hitler mustache under his nose.

Brigitte Daguerre, the third woman linked to James, says she wishes their affair never happened and is uncomfortable being in the spotlight. Daguerre says she "liked the friendship" she had with James and they bonded over a common interest in motorcycles. The former model says she "made a mistake in thinking that there was a possibility with Jesse, when there wasn't. But I didn't do anything that bad, because as soon as I felt that something wasn't right, I stayed home. That is why I get mad when people call me a home wrecker: I had no idea of what the full story was with him."

Not as upset with the spotlight is Michelle "Bombshell" McGee, who has started a subscription web site offering  "naughty, naked photos" and videos of  herself. Although the site doesn't yet list subscription prices, it does advertise a "limited time only sneak-a-peek" for $9.95. McGee says in a webmaster statement, "To all the people that think Michelle planned this drama, we can assure that if she had planned it, we would have had our pay-site and merchandise store ready for public consumption. We were caught off guard, but we will have our full pay-site up in the next couple weeks." Meanwhile, her dad, Dennis McGee, says Michelle now thinks Jesse James "is a snake" although she cared about him when she thought she was the only woman in his life -- well, besides his wife.

Incidentally, after falling into the plant, Lindsay tweeted, "Only I would get pushed into a large, sharp plant by crazy paparazzi!!! I need to start wearing more flats:/"

Morning Links: Ricky Martin tells fans he is gay

Ricky Martin Latin popstar Ricky Martin has confirmed the long-rumored speculation that he is gay. Martin made the announcement via his website, which has since crashed and is down for maintenance. But AFP reports that Martin's statement read, in part: "I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man. I am very blessed to be who I am."

Martin said that he came to the conclusion that he would reveal his sexuality while working on his memoirs. Martin said that hiding his sexuality was "too heavy for me to keep inside" and that embracing his sexuality now is "something worth celebrating."

"From the moment I wrote the first phrase I was sure the book was the tool that was going to help me free myself from things I was carrying within me for a long time," Martin wrote on his website.

On the advice of managers, Martin said he remained in the closet, for fear of ruining his astronomical rise to fame in the music industry. In 1999 Martin scored big with his "Livin' La Vida Loca" and is a 5-time Grammy winner.

Morning Links: Gerard Butler photographed secretly fondling Jennifer Aniston while they smile for the cameras

Aniston butler butt grab Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston, in Paris to push their new movie, "The Bounty Hunter," have downplayed talk of a romance although they're doing the romantic things, including a private cruise on the Seine. But a photographer who stood behind the pair as they posed for photos got an intriguing back view of Butler's butt-grab, left. On the boat, a source told People, "They were very close. They really warmed up the room." Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reports that former "Friends" co-star David Schwimmer is no longer speaking to Aniston after she told David Letterman that she had no idea who he is marrying. Schwimmer recently announced his engagement to Zoe Buckman, a photographer who has been his girlfriend for three years, but when Letterman asked about the engaged pair, Aniston said she didn't know who Buckman is. "David was not impressed that one of his supposed friends didn’t know who he was marrying," says a source. "He has been with Zoe for a couple of years and was offended Jen couldn’t remember her."

A source tells TMZ that Dr. Conrad Murray has not apologized to the Jackson family for the death of his patient, Michael Jackson, because he doesn't believe he believes he did anything improper that would have led to Jackson's death. A source connected to Murray says that Murray does not believe the Propofol he administered to the singer killed him, although the L.A. County Coroner concluded that Jackson died from a lethal overdose of the anesthetic. The source also says that Murray neglected to tell paramedics about administering Propofol because he had no idea the drug killed Jackson.

Brandi Glanville, Eddie Cibrian's ex, says LeAnn Rimes, Cibrian's new love, is preventing her from seeing her son Jake on his third birthday. "Eddie and I had planned to do something together and small for Jake's upcoming birthday on April 15th," Glanville told EOnline, but "he has changed his mind. He is now saying I can't see Jake on his birthday because it falls on his custodial day and it would make LeAnn uncomfortable." Cibrian and Glanville also have a son, Mason, 6. Glanville says while she "signed and notarized a document saying they could take my kids out of the country to Mexico on vacation" because "I wouldn't want to deprive them of such a great opportunity," Cibrian hasn't reciprocated. "I have already spent Christmas Eve and Christmas morning alone, missing my children, and crying because I have no family near by," she says. "Jake is my son, not Leann's. He should be with both his parents on his birthday." Glanville also says that Cibrian "doesn't even come to Mason's baseball games on my days because LeAnn doesn't want him around me."

Matt Damon took a lot of teasing from famous friends Saturday night about being named winner of the 24th American Cinematheque Award in Beverly Hills. "He doesn't deserve this award," Jimmy Kimmel told People. "I don't know who they weren't able to get, but I'd go with Tom Selleck before I'd go with Matt Damon." Sarah Silverman started out by saying, "The worst thing I could say is, you know, Matt Damon is like, maybe he's a perfectionist," she told the audience. "And his breath is like, Jesus! And his hair plugs are really obvious. Besides that, there's like nothing. So sorry, roast not possible!"  Jennifer Garner had the crowd laughing as she described Damon's relationship with her husband, his best friend Ben Affleck. "Here's proof that love is alive and well in Hollywood," said Garner. "At least for my darling husband and my husband's darling husband."

Kate Gosselin would like one birthday gift from the viewers of season 10 of "Dancing with the Stars" -- she'd like to stay on the show for a while. The 35-year-old mother of eight didn't get rave reviews when she danced for the first time last week, but hopes viewers will give her a chance when the first eliminations are made this week. "I hope I’m not one of the first to go," Gosselin told People. "I really like it here. You become close to everybody so fast." Kate spent her birthday away from her kids, in Los Angeles rehearsing. On Saturday, her bodyguard, Steve Neild, and his wife, Gina, arrived with a large gift for her, and then she spent hours practicing in her basement dance studio with partner Tony Dovolani. Us Weekly reminds us that last year on her birthday, Kate's stayed home alone while husband Jon took Deanna Hummel, a 23-year-old teacher, snowboarding in Utah.

Allred said in a statement that the woman she represents, "a beautiful model and businesswoman ... had an intimate three-year relationship with Jesse James. The relationship just ended recently after the scandal broke." James and Bullock are seen at left before their separation.

Jesse James, you are warned! Speaking to Niecy Nash at the People's Choice Awards earlier this year, Sandra Bullock said she wouldn't have been as "respectable" as Elin Nordegren was when she discovered her husband's many affairs. "If I were Elin [Nordegren]…man, I would have hit a lot more than she did…I would have kept hitting!" said Bullock, referring to rumors that Tiger Woods' wife went after him with a golf club before he crashed his car. "You would still be swinging the golf club?" asked Nash. "Yeah, she stopped. She was respectable," Bullock said. "I'd get the baseball bat. I'd get everything out."

• • •

Meanwhile, Jesse James is still clashing with the photographers who have been staking out his every movesince last week, when reports of his affairs became public and Bullock moved out. Police were called to his workplace, West Coast Choppers, where a paparazzo said his car had been vandalized. But James reported that the photographer had been stalking him, and each made a citizen's arrest on the other. Police took statements from both. "Neither of them was arrested," Sgt. Dina Zapalski told E! News. "It will be hashed out in court."

Knowles, seen at left with his daughter Beyoncé, initially refused to respond to Wright's claim that he fathered the baby during an 18-month affair. Wright, an actress, filed a paternity suit last October. Morning Links: Second & third women claim affair with Sandra Bullock's husband Jesse James

Jesse James Two more women are claiming they had affairs with Sandra Bullock's husband, Jesse James. The first woman tells Star Magazine that she had a two-year affair with James after meeting him through MySpace. Melissa Smith, a 35-year-old stripper, claims that she would visit James at the West Coast Choppers shop, where she would regularly have sex with him in an office.

Smith says that James contacted her on MySpace after seeing a photo of her posing in front of a car at a West Coast Choppers party. James e-mailed her and and used the moniker, Vanilla Gorilla, which was also reportedly used with Michelle McGee, the first "other woman".  The affair started in 2006, according to Smith, one year after he married Bullock.

• • •

Meanwhile, TMZ reports that photographer Brigitte Daguerre has come forward to say that she had an affair with James as well. Daguerre says that she was hired to do styling work as part of a photo shoot to promote West Coat Choppers and that she and James exchanged e-mails and text messages for a year. Daguerre has nearly 200 text messages, some very sexually explicit, from James sent during that time period. Daguerre also tells the site that she and James had sex only four times before she ended the affair.

• • •

TMZ also says that in 2007 James settled a sexual harassment lawsuit with a former female West Coast Choppers executive. The woman says that between 2006 and 2007, James made repeated sexual advances towards her, and that they did have sex. The woman saved suggestive e-mails, and even had physical evidence, a la Monica Lewinsky, in a stained T-shirt. She ultimately quit in 2007, hired a lawyer, and the case was settled for $725,000.
