Morning Links: Oksana Grigorieva says she has received threatening calls over leaked Gibson tapes

Oksana in green dressAs RadarOnline releases the third and fourth tapes of Mel Gibson threatening and verbally abusing ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, Grigorieva has contacted police to say she is receiving threatening phone calls from strangers apparently angry that the tapes are being leaked. At least one of the calls "could be interpreted as a death threat," a source tells TMZ. Meanwhile, the Gibson tapes continue to be aired. In the fourt one, released today, Gibson threatens to burn down Grigorieva's house and asks, "How dare you act like such a bitch when I'm being so f---ing nice." In the third one, Gibson and Grigorieva argue about a Latina housekeeper, to whom he refers with a racial slur. Gibson tells Grigorieva, "You're a f---ing mentally deprived idiot. You're a f---ing using whore … I own you." After he calls her a "user," Grigorieva replies, "What did I use you for? I've given you everything I have … I'm not a whore or thief … Are you insane? Of course you are." The tapes also show that Gibson objected to a Grecian-style teal dress that Grigorieva wore to the premiere of his movie, "Edge of Darkness," in Madrid in February, left. He said, "And that green thing today was enough. That's provocative!" Grigorieva has said she doesn't know who is releasing the tapes and called it "terrible."

The tapes have also come to official notice  in the domestic violence investigation against Gibson. Los Angeles Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore said, "We are reviewing the tapes." Sheriff's officials also want to interview Grigorieva's 12-year-old son, Alexander Dalton, son of James Bond star Timothy Dalton, in the case. Also involved as a witness is Grigorieva's dentist, who took photos of her mouth before he repaired the damage she says was done when Gibson hit her twice in the face.

People also reports that before the two split in March, Gibson sought therapy to help him end his crumbling relationship with Grigorieva, the mother of his 8-month-old daughter, Lucia. "He realized how unhealthy the relationship was and recognized that they were in a bad place and he was getting his buttons pushed," a friend told People. Gibson, the pal says, "wanted to figure out how to extricate himself from this unhealthy relationship peacefully and calmly. Which is what he did."

John Stamos took the stand Tuesday in a Michigan courtroom to testify in the extortion trial of a couple who threatened to air what they said were suggestive photos of him unless he paid them $680,000. Stamos said he met the woman, Allison Coss, six years ago in an adult nightclub in Orlando while he was "heartbroken" about his breakup with wife Rebecca Romijn. Coss, who was 17 when they met but told him she was older, was with a group he invited back to his hotel room, where he says they did some innocent "hanging out." Stamos said he and Coss exchanged what he called "flirty" emails through the years, until she sent him emails last fall saying she was being hounded by a man who said he had compromising photos of Stamos with cocaine and strippers. "We didn't take any bad pics. I'm too smart," wrote back Stamos. Coss and Scott Sippola both face extortion charges.

Fans have been using permanent marker to write messages on the outside wall of the mausoleum in which Michael Jackson is entombed, according to security people at Forest Lawn in Glendale, Calif. The messages, which say such things as "Keep the dream alive" and "Miss you sweet angel" are hidden under ledges or behind bushes. Forest Lawn reps say, "Activity such as this is a prime example why we are evaluating the level of access to the various entrances of the Great Mausoleum" and add that anyone caught vandalizing any structure in the cemetery will be banned for life.

Prosecutors have dropped the burglary charge against actor Rip Torn in connection with his bizarre break-in of a bank in Salisbury, Conn., on Jan. 29. Torn, 79, still faces other charges related to the incident, including possession of a revolver without a permit, criminal trespassing, and criminal mischief. Police said he was drunk and carrying a loaded gun when he was arrested inside the bank, which is near his house, which is where Torn said he thought he was. In court Tuesday, Torn's attorney applied for accelerated rehabilitation, a program for first-time, nonviolent offenders in which charges can be dropped after a probation period. Prosecutors say they will oppose this application. Both sides will be back in court on Aug. 11.
