Daily links: Lindsay Lohan tells mag she was 'irresponsible'

Lindsay Lohan VF Lindsay Lohan has given an interview to Vanity Fair where she finally admits that her legal woes and problems are the result of her acting irresponsibly. Lohan tells the mag, "I was irresponsible. And I'm not making excuses," but then she goes ahead and makes excuses.

Among them, highlighted by E! News: she was young and had a lot of money to burn; all of her friends were going out and what was she to do, sit home alone?; she experimented at an age where a lot of people experiment in college, but they don't have paparazzi following them around chronicling it; she was young and curious and people were doing it in front of her. She also had an excuse for missing her court-ordered meetings, "I have to support myself. I have to pay for my apartment. I have to pay for food."

Lohan tells the magazine that she got swept up in the tabloid news world. "I would look up to those girls … the Britneys and whatever. And I would be like, I want to be like that," Lohan said. "I see where that's gotten me now and I don't like it."

Fantasia barrino Former 'American Idol' winner Fantasia Barrino confirms in a VH1 'Behind the Music' episode (airing tonight at 9 PM) that she was trying to kill herself earlier this month when she swallowed a bottle of pills. "I didn't have any fight in me. I didn't care about anything. I just wanted out," Barrino says in the episode.

Barrino had been romantically linked to a married man, whose wife went public about the affair and alleged sex tapes. The scrutiny from the media and the embarrassment of it all was too much for Barrino to take.

"The weeks and months ahead will not be easy for them as we adjust to a new family situation, which is why our privacy must be a principal concern."

Daily links: Spencer Pratt peddling Heidi Montag sex tape for $5 million unless she agrees to make new show with him

Heidi and spencer Heidi Montag's soon-to-be-ex-husband Spencer Pratt confronted Montag with a demand that she agree to make a new reality TV show with him or he will release a number of sex tapes the two made while they were together. The tapes are said to include footage from both before and after Montag's marathon plastic surgery that remade her face and body. Pratt also says he has another tape Montag made with Playboy Playmate Karissa Shannon. Shannon tells TMZ that such a tape does exist, but if it's released she'll sue Pratt.

Pratt says if the tapes are released, he'll finally make a dream come true, because being a porn star has been his ambition since 2005. He says Montag is divorcing him because she thinks he's bad for her image, but she'll never have an acting career. Pratt says,"We're reality stars, not serious actors. She can’t think she’s Naomi Watts. She’s a tad delusional." He also says releasing the tape -- for $5 million, which seems reasonable to "sources close to the deal" -- will help Montag's career. "When I realized how much Kim [Kardashian] was making, my logic is this is the best thing I can do for my ex-wife," he said. "Kim is on the cover of Allure right now. Heidi isn’t on the cover of Allure."

Daily links: Lindsay Lohan's psych diagnosis called faulty, need for further rehab questioned

Lindsay lohan in court Sources familiar with Lindsay Lohan's treatment at UCLA have told TMZ that Lohan's psychiatric status was misdiagnosed and her doctors believe she does not need that 90 days of inpatient rehab care ordered by the judge who sentenced her.
