Mel Gibson crashed his 2008 Maserati sports car over the weekend, but the actor is said to be 'fine,' according to his rep. California Highway Patrol says that Gibson was driving in Malibu when his $100,000+ sports car crashed into a hillside pile of rocks. Alcohol was not a factor, according to the police, and Gibson denied texting while driving and drowsy driving, as possible other causes.
Highway Patrol spokesman Leland Tang said, "There were no objective symptoms of intoxication, any level of impairment and we've ruled out speeding as well based on the damage to the car, which was moderate. Mr. Gibson was alert, oriented and cooperative."
TMZ has photos of the damaged vehicle at their website.
Gibson has been embroiled in a bitter custody dispute with ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, and has been investigated for alleged domestic abuse.

The members of Insane Clown Posse say that they warned Tila Tequila about the fans at their Gathering of the Juggalos, and that she insisted that she would still go on. ICP member Violent J told TMZ that there were rumors that fans were targeting Tequila. "We told her about the rumor and she didn’t care," Violent J told the site. He also said that the group paid Tequila before the show and told her that if anything happened and she had to leave the stage earlier than her contracted time, she could still keep the money. Violent J says that they have been informed by Tequila's camp that a lawsuit is underway, but he says, "We're not gonna sit back and give her our money."
But Tequila wasn't the only performer at the Gathering that suffered an injury. Rapper Method Man suffered a facial laceration as well, after being hit with a projectile fired from the fans below. Another rapper performing, Redman, said that the projectile that hit Method Man appeared to be a full beer can.
