Is Lindsay Lohan's headed towards a conservatorship, a la Britney Spears? If her father Michael Lohan has his way, yes. Michael Lohan confirmed to E! News yesterday that he has met with attorneys and plans to file a petition in court requesting the creation of a conservatorship of his daughter's estate. Michael Lohan believes he is the only one who cares about Lindsay, and that the idea of his ex-wife, Dina, being a co-conservator makes him uneasy.
"Since Dina and [manager Lou Taylor] are going to try to be coconservators, I had a choice of fighting it or petitioning for the purpose of appointing two conservators who don't have an interest in Lindsays money but rather her as a person and human being. Dina and Lou have their hands in it, not their hearts," Michael Lohan told E! News.
But as of now, the entertainment site says, neither Dina Lohan, nor Lindsay's manager, have any plans to file for a conservatorship of the troubled actress' fortune and estate.

Paris Hilton's boyfriend, Cy Waits, is in more trouble after a hit-and-run incident in West Hollywood last night. Waits and Hilton were leaving hotspot, Boa, and were swamped by paparazzi. Police and paramedics were called to the scene and the photographer was treated and taken to an area hospital. Waits later returned to the scene and was cited for hit-and-run charges. Waits was previously in the headlines this summer for a DUI arrest where Hilton was also charged with cocaine possession, and his subsequent ouster from the Wynn resort where he was a club booker.

Stand-up comedian Greg Giraldo died yesterday in New Jersey hospital, five days after being rushed there after an overdose on prescription pills. The comedian was known for previously being a judge on NBC's "Last Comic Standing," as well as appearances on Howard Stern's radio show, the Comedy Central roasts, and his touring act. Sources tell TMZ that the overdose was not a suicide attempt.

Producer Nigel Lythgoe has tweeted the first picture of the new 'American Idol' judges at work. In the photo, Lythgoe appears to be directing his team as they sit at the judges table. Randy Jackson has moved into Simon Cowell's seat as the line of last defense for auditioners trying to get through to Hollywood. Steven Tyler sits in Jackson's old seat, to the left, and Jennifer Lopez sits in the middle, where Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi previously resided. Of the photo, Lythgoe added, "It's great to be back on American Idol. The judges were great."

Two felony charges have been dropped against Howard K. Stern, the former attorney and companion of Anna Nicole Smith. Stern is on trial on charges that he knowingly supported the prescription pill habit of an addict by committing fraud to get the drugs. Stern had been charged with 11 felony counts, but Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert Perry dropped the charges of obtaining a prescription by fraud, deceit or misrepresentation and obtaining a prescription by giving a false name. Judge Perry also dismissed 18 of the 39 "overt acts" cited in the conspiracy charges against Stern and Dr. Sandeep Kapoor. Both side rested their cases on Monday and closing arguments are delayed until next Monday while the judge considers other defense motions.
