Live from the boys A-1 final: McKinley wins - in DOUBLE OT

We're live at Buffalo State for the fourth of five championship games today.

The night session will hopefully live up to the afternoon, where we had an awesome third-quarter performance by Akron, a last-second game-winner for Olean and a solid performance by Depew in beating its league rival.

This A-1 game is the most anticipated game of the day for this reporter. McKinley overwhelmed Sweet Home on Wednesday night and it will be interesting to see how their pressure is met by Williamsville South and point guard Mark Coppola.

This just in from South coach Al Monaco: South starter and three-point sharpshooter Joe Licata is out for the game with mononucleosis. Bummer for South -- Licata seemed to be under the weather a bit during Wednesday's semifinal win over Grand Island.

Miguel Rodriguez is covering this game while I have the AA final, so I'll be able to update the blog more. Still, I'm not sure how many questions I'll be able to answer during the games, so please be patient. Thanks.

This game will be broadcast by Time Warner Cable SportsNet at 4 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Be sure to read our stories and what the players and coaches had to say (and also check out some outstanding photos) in Sunday's paper.
