Tee it up for Trench Trophy

Carl Kuras of the Trench Trophy reports that space is still available in the Lancaster Elks Lodge #1478 Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Saturday, July 18 at Kis-N-Green Golf course in Alden.

Proceeds of the tournament will go to charity, including the Trench Trophy, which honors high school football lineman. The tournament will also donate to cerebral palsy, Kids Escaping Drugs and other charities.

The tournament is a four-person best ball scramble with a shotgun start at noon. The tournament includes 18 holes of golf and cart, three free drinks, a hamburger lunch with snack, tournament shirt, prizes for all and a Chinese auction. A dinner will be provided after the tournament back at the Elks in the main hall banquet facility.

The cost of the tournament is $65 which include all the above. Anyone interested in sponsoring or playing should contact Carl Kuras at Lancaster Elks at 685-1478 or carlkuras@yahoo.com.

The Trench Trophy committee does a tremendous job throughout the high school football season, putting hours and hours into scouting and discerning the top lineman in Western New York. It's a great group and a hugely welcome addition to the WNY high school sports community.
