Saturday Afternoon Live: Week One

Half of the high school football weekend is over, but almost two-thirds of the games are.

While there were 25 games kicking off seasons on Friday night, there are 13 today.

While there might be a lower quantity, there might be an overall higher quality of games today. Included are potentially playoff-impacting Week One battles of Williamsville South at Grand Island and Lackawanna at Olean.

Stay here through the night as we'll have updates as soon as we get them. There are also major non-football events going on today that will kick off their respective sports.

Also, tune your twitter to "bufnewspreptalk" to get instant updates of the scores as soon as they are reported to us.

I'll be covering the Will South at Grand Island game that kicks off at 2 p.m. Follow the LIVE BLOG here.

Another wild day of high school football -- Williamsville South's 32-29 win at Grand Island took a while -- check out the blog.

We have a scoreboard that will be updated with more scores (and box scores) as we get them.

We also have a main story that will also be updated as quickly as we're able to.

Semi-random note: The one score not called in Friday night was Frontier 40, Williamsville North 12

North called today and apologized for not calling last night. Our policy is that it is the home team's obligation to call. The reason for that is because winning road teams have to get on the bus and might not always be in the best position to call. However, winning teams usually call us because they are eager to give us various details. Winning teams are encouraged to call after all games in case we need certain details or statistics. Thanks.
