Saturday Afternoon Live: Week Two

The second half of Week Two includes 19 games that range all over the map and from morning to evening.

The schedule begins with a Harvard Cup tripleheader at All High Stadium starting at 10 a.m. and spans until three evening games, including the state's third oldest rivalry of Bradford (Pa.) at Olean as well as Canisius going to Ohio to take on national power St. Ignatius.

Miguel Rodriguez will be at the nice Harvard Cup matchup of Burgard and defending champion Riverside that kicks off at 12:30 p.m. while Mary Jo Monnin is out at the Lancaster at Clarence clash at 2.

Stay here through the afternoon into the evening as we'll have updates as soon as we get them. There are also major non-football events going on today in other fall sports.

Also, tune your twitter to "bufnewspreptalk" to get instant updates of the scores as soon as they are reported to us. We also have a fan page at Facebook -- just search "The Buffalo News' Prep Talk blog" -- and you'll get updates with links to our high school sports stories.

Our first story about Saturday's games has been posted -- that will grow as the night goes on.

Nice wins for little guys Burgard and Newfane, while the usual suspects kept rolling to 2-0 starts. Eden is another team to watch -- quite a turnaround with two routs in its 2-0 start under new coach Chuck Tilley.

At the end of business Saturday, here are the links to check out:

* Burgard beats Riverside in the Harvard Cup.

* Lancaster rolls Clarence in Class AA South.

* The roundup has a ton of info -- much more than we could squeeze into the paper -- including a landmark win for Newfane and Will South's offense going nuts again behind quarterback Joe Licata.

* Another ton of info on other fall sports is in High School Extra.
