Here are video highlights from Joe Licata's record-setting, 522-yard passing performance in Williamsville South's 62-32 victory over Williamsville North gathered during my Thursday Night Live outing.
Of course, you can watch the whole game at 4 p.m. today on Time Warner Cable SportsNet and hopefully they'll have it on the On Demand channel -- it's not every day you see a 522-yard passing game.
Thursday night was that kind of night -- here are the Licata highlights that I saw:
Mark Coppola goes in motion, then into more motion on a wide receiver screen (above) -- some great action right in front of me.
Licata hits Kevin O'Connell over the middle (above) -- he fumbles but hops on it for the recovery.
A big gain, and a great angle of a fired-up sideline as Licata hits Phil Stasiak with a big throw. Maybe the best highlight of him throwing that I got (above).
The first TD for Licata -- and South -- comes after he hits O'Connell on a slant.
Licata to O'Connell on the right side, and then right into your living room.
Licata to Stasiak for a modest gain (above).
Lots of receivers on the left, and Licata finds an uncovered Allen Knight for his second touchdown (above).
A big gain on a big throw down the left sideline to Stasiak (above) -- on the previous play, South appeared to run nearly the same call, but Licata's throw drifted out of bounds and Stasiak was out when he caught it. Coach Kurzanski had a great affirmative reaction to Licata after the second time was the charm.
A highlight's not really a highlight when it is called back on penalties, but this one (above) was right in front of me (even the flags).
A swing pass to Tyler Krempa (above), thankfully right at me and the South sideline.
Licata's third touchdown goes to O'Connell on the right side of the end zone (above).
Just a warning -- I may have some of order of plays screwed up on the second and third scoring drives.
