And now, for the biggest night of the Western New York high school football season.

Of the 10 Section VI semifinals this weekend, eight will be held tonight.

There's also a major Monsignor Martin matchup of Canisius at St. Francis (here's the full regular season schedule and here's the playoff schedule).

The Week Nine regular season action kicks off at All High Stadium with the Harvard Cup's 5 p.m. kickoff of East vs. Bennett. The only other game going on tonight is a noteworthy one from afar as Cardinal O'Hara travels to Ohio small-school power Steubenville.

It was announced at the NT football game, and it got a deserved big roar, that the NT girls volleyball team knocked off top-seeded Lancaster in the Section VI Class AA semifinals. Huge win for the Lady Jacks.
