Research material: Class C state football final

Here's the info we came across in putting together our story about Southwestern in today's paper:

The basics: The Section V football site has the lineup of the entire state football tournament. ... Here's our history of Section VI football in the state tournament, which includes last year's tremendous results as well as all previous years, from the regionals to the state finals. ... Section4football has great overall history of the state, including how every school has performed, year-by-year, in the states. ... Here's the Time Warner Cable SportsNet schedule.

Here are this week's state rankings, where Southwestern is first and Bronxville is second. The state rankings are part of the gallons of info available at the outstanding Road To Syracuse site administered by John Moriello of the state sportswriters association.

Flashback alert: Here's my game story from last year (after some major google-ing) here's our live blog from last year's final.

Here's a preseason blog which includes pictures of some of the signs in the Southwestern weight room that I referenced in my story. You can clearly see one sign; look in the mirror to find the picture of the Carrier Dome.

Here's Bronxville's schedule and results on MaxPreps.

Here's how Bronxville advanced to the state final in an excellently written story by Kevin Devaney of Westchester County's Journal News. Outstanding first two paragraphs. Also check out video highlights on the right side of the page.

Bronxville may have had some injuries it's needed to nurse, according to a follow-up story after the weekend by Devaney. While we're plugging his stuff, here's another story by him on Bronxville's linebackers.
