Falls' Braham a semifinalist for Rudy award

Niagara Falls senior Anthony Braham has advanced to the semifinal round of the High School Rudy Awards

You can vote for Anthony here. He is one of 30 semifinalists announced today from the initial field of 396 nominees.

A selection committee and the fan vote will determine the winner, who will receive a $10,000 scholarship, and two runners-up, who will each receive a $5,000 scholarship. The three winners will be announced on Feb. 3, 2010.

News Niagara Reporter Denise Jewell Gee wrote a feature story on Braham after he was announced as a nominee. Check it out -- it's a touching story about a tough kid.

The award is based on the story of Notre Dame's Daniel “Rudy” Ruettiger, the inspiration for the 1993 movie “Rudy.”
