Check out this nice hoop tale from Prep Talk Nation contributor extraordinaire centercourt:
"I thought Prep Talk Nation might appreciate this story and photo. My younger sister lives in Syracuse and three years ago, began a tradition of getting tickets to an Orange home game for herself, our brother, and myself as Christmas presents.
This year, the game falls on Saturday against Villanova. It'll be a great game at the Dome - a 9 pm start between a pair of top tens and broadcast on ESPN. But that wasn't even the best gift I received this year from my thoughtful sister.
Also in the gift bag was a framed Syracuse tee shirt, autographed by none other than WNY's own Jonny Flynn. She waited in line for three hours and made a $20 donation (plus the cost of the shirt and frame) just for me.
She said when she finally made it to the front of the line, she told him "my brother is centercourt and he went to so many of your high school games, he's such a big fan". Apparently he wasn't that impressed as she said he didn't make much of it. But he did address the autograph "TO CENTER COURT CHAD" as seen in the photo. She also showed me a picture of the two of them during the signing. Definitely my favorite Christmas gift this year.
See you around the courts."
Great stuff about a super high school fan -- and a great family.
Being such the high school hoop fan, centercourt even had the timing worked out perfectly -- until Mother Nature stole the ball with a snowstorm. Saturday is only of the only days of the season -- especially during the postseason -- on which there was no high school basketball scheduled, so he wouldn't have missed any major action if not for the storm.
