Good afternoon on a spectacularly sunny day at Kenmore West's Crosby Field, where we'll determine the AA North champion today as Riverside takes on the Blue Devils.
In a final from this morning, thanks to Rich Kozak: Grover Cleveland routed Lafayette, 34-8, as Grover quarterback Chris Holland won the Paul Missana MVP Award in the rivalry game.
Just for the record, I know I have Ken West in my top 10, but my gut tells me Riverside keeps rolling with a win today.
2:18 p.m. Riverside has scored on its first drive after a 24-yard TOUCHDOWN pass from quarterback Jeremiah Cormack to Charles Pawlak. Pawlak went up and won a jump-ball from James Argiro on the right side of the end zone. Sophomore Roland Wapalo kicks the extra point and Riverside leads Kenmore West, 7-0, with 5:19 left in the first quarter.
UPDATE from photographer Mark Mulville, who is at Riverside: Burgard leads Cheektowaga, 16-8, with 3:12 left in the first quarter. Burgard jumped to a 16-0 lead on a 60-yard fumble recovery for a score; Cheektowaga took advantage of a fumble on its score.

A bad snap by Riverside on fourth-and-15 at its 20 results in a host of Blue Devil tacklers take down the punter deep in the end zone for a SAFETY. With 5:31 left in the second quarter, Riverside leads Kenmore West, 7-2.
2:50 p.m. Riverside stops Kenmore West and forces a punt and takes over on its 20 wtih 3:11 left in the first half.

2:58 p.m. Riverside's possession ended with a punt; Ken West now forced to punt on fourth-and-3 from its 37 and 1:16 left in the second quarter.
UPDATE: Man, that Burgard game is pretty crazy. Burgard intercepts Cheektowaga and takes it deep into Warrior territory.
3:04 p.m. It is HALFTIME here with Riverside leading Kenmore West, 7-2.

UPDATE from O'Hara: Chad Kelly's 25-yard TD run puts Joe's up, 23-18, just before halftime.
UPDATE from Riverside: Burgard leads Cheektowaga, 32-20, at halftime.
Here it's been what I expected, especially for a Riverside game -- a tight defensive battle. Unfortunately for Riverside, it is much like other games I've seen from them in that they have had a lot of penalties. Ken West's Marcus Lobdell has unleashed some very nice passes, and he's gotten some great catches from his receivers. If it stays this tight, the Blue Devils have what it takes to make a tough, big play when it counts. Should be fun. Ken West is kicking off to Riverside.
3:37 p.m. Kenmore West calls a timeout before fourth-and-goal at the Riverside 5 with 3:58 left in the third quarter. Lengthy drive is West's first of the second half after forcing a quick punt by Riverside.
3:41 p.m. Riverside stoped West on a fourth-and-goal, then punted; West takes over at the Riverside 40 with 34.7 seconds to go in the third quarter.
UPDATE: Bishop Timon-St. Jude not surprisingly scores a 42-0 win over Nichols.
3:45 p.m. At the END OF THE THIRD QUARTER, Riverside leads Kenmore West, 7-2.
UPDATE: Lockport kicks a field goal two plays into the fourth quarter; North leads, 7-6.
3:55 p.m. Riverside gets a first down on a fake punt, but soon punts and Ken West takes over at its 28 with 6:49 to play.
UPDATE: North takes a 14-6 lead with 7:32 to play on a 1-yard pass from Hall to Gronkowski.
4 p.m. Riverside forced a Ken West punt and took over at midfield with 5:14 left.
4:05 p.m. Kenmore West takes over on downs at its 30 with 2:31 left.
4:08 p.m. Ken West turns it over on downs after four plays and Riverside looks very good as it takes over at the Ken West 33 with 1:24 to play.
4:15 p.m. Riverside takes a timeout with 17.2 seconds left facing fourth-and-6 at the Kenmore West 27. They'll try to run the clock out and/or get a first down. Still some hope for Ken West.
UPDATE: Lockport takes a 20-14 lead with 4:31 left.
UPDATE: Burgard leads Cheektowaga, 32-20, after three quarters.
4:19 p.m. We have a FINAL SCORE: Riverside 7, Kenmore West 2.
Riverside wins the Class AA North Division championship and NT is out of the playoffs. Kenmore West is the second seed followed by Lockport and Will North -- depending on their game.
Will North leads at Lockport, 21-20, with 1:19 left.
Running down to do interviews ... will be back with updates ASAP ...

4:47 p.m. FINAL: St. Joe's 43, Cardinal O'Hara 25.
6:11 p.m. By our account, the playoff picture is now complete. Lew-Port wins (in overtime!) to clinch the eighth and final spot in Class B; Grand Island wins to take fourth place in A North.
Time to write some stories and get some videos put together for me. The official Section VI seeding meeting is Sunday morning, where dates, times and the complete consolation bowl playoff schedule will be determined. We'll relay that info as soon as we get it; it will definitely be in Monday's paper.
