State championship pages start getting served up Saturday

Tomorrow will mark the -- pick your metaphor -- kickoff, first serve or starter's gun on our state championship pages for the 2010 fall season.

Debuting Saturday will be a page honoring Nichols girls soccer, which won the state Catholic championship with a tremendous win over downstate power St. Anthony's of Long Island and finished the year ranked 24th in the country by ESPNRise.

The rest of the lineup:

Sunday: Williamsville North field hockey
Monday, Dec. 20: Falconer and Randolph girls volleyball
Wednesday, Dec. 22: Eden girls volleyball
Friday, Dec. 24: East Aurora boys and girls and Maple Grove girls cross country

High-quality reproductions of the pages will be available for purchase at, where you can also peruse (and purchase) championship pages from the last two years.
